Brains: Use them or lose them!
Each challenge was provided ‘Courtesy of the Host’ and was delivered in a briefcase placed in various rooms (labs, basements, delivery docks etc). When a challenge was activated, the Host Liaison would make an announcement over the PA system informing the Survivors which room to enter. Each room was locked down until the challenge was complete. If the Survivors took too long, The Host would release the door locks and command a Horde of the Infected (Zombies) to motivate the Survivors.
A challenge was either characterized as a ‘Problem Solving’, ‘Performance’ or ‘Battle’ sequence.
Problem Solving challenges required following instructions to complete activities that often revealed part of the mystery of The Host. In the Problem Solving challenge illustrated above, the Survivors find the Medics Case with the swabs taken at the ‘Orientation‘ scene. Using the chemicals and equipment provided, the Survivors were instructed to test who was infected. It turns out that 4 of them are indeed infected, but the ID’s have been tampered with… so they are unsure who; that is until after they find the handheld computer that has a file that can descramble the IDs and reveal which of the Survivors are indeed infected.
